If you ever find yourself with extra grapes, try making these oven roasted grapes as a topping for your meats or to feature on your cheese board.

Just like my oven roasted strawberries, these come together effortlessly and need just a few minutes of hands-on time to make. Enjoy them as a delicious snack or use them to level up your toasts.

I love experimenting new ways of putting fresh fruit to use. I've tried using extra watermelon to make watermelon honey and some blueberries to make my own blueberry infused vinegar.

This time, I had some extra grapes that I wanted to put to use, and I thought of lightly spicing and then roasting them.

Grapes: I used red grapes here. You can use black or green grapes too, but just make sure you use the seedless variety.

Thyme: For a bit of aroma.

Oil: Any neutral flavored cooking oil.

Seasonings: Just some salt and pepper. Use citrus salt for a bit of a fruity aroma.

Substitutions & Variations

  • For a deeper, complex flavor, toss the grapes in a mix of oil, seasonings and some balsamic vinegar. Sometimes, I end up using my blueberry vinegar or strawberry vinegar too.
  • Want the roasted grapes to have a slightly sweeter flavor? Add a bit of brown sugar (or regular sugar) into the mix. This will also help you get that nice bit of caramelization on the grapes.

Tips & Tricks to Nail the Recipe

  • For a fun, fruity twist, add a bit of homemade orange zest into the mix.
  • You can also team up the grapes with some roasted nuts like almonds, pecans and walnuts before serving them on a cheese board.
  • If you have some juice leftover in the pan after roasting the grapes, reduce it in a pan over medium-low heat and use it as a drizzle.
  • Add a pinch of Air Fryer ginger powder to lend the roasted grapes a bit of warmth and to balance out the sweetness.

How to Serve Oven Roasted Grapes

Serve these oven roasted grapes with your favorite grilled or roast meat or serve with a rack of lamb. I personally love featuring it on my charcuterie board whenever I'm hosting, and I usually pair it with my hot honey chicken wings, crispy bread, some spicy tomato jam and Cretan Dakos.

You can also use them as a topping over ice cream or Greek yogurt cake. And of course, they can taste fantastic with some burrata cheese or when added to a simple salad.
