Air Fryer Crispy Noodles
These Air Fryer crispy noodles are golden brown and super delicious- perfect as a side or topping for your Asian-style soups. You'll need just 3 simple ingredients and minutes of kitchen time to make these ultra crunchy noodles at home.
They're super addictive and are so versatile (just like my Air Fryer tortilla strips). You can put them to use in lots of ways- not just in soups.

I've recently been experimenting with a lot of Asian inspired recipes. My Thai dipping sauce aka Prik nam pla has received a LOT of love for its banging flavors, and so has my ginger mango chutney and my numbing Sichuan chili oil.
My focus while trying out these recipes was always trying to keep it easy, while still coming up with a condiment that was versatile enough to be paired with lots of recipes. And that's exactly what these crunchy noodles are all about!

What's So Great About the Recipe?
- The recipe needs just three ingredients, and there's truly no skill required.
- Air frying uses a fraction of the oil compared to deep frying, and you'll still get that super crunchy texture you're looking for.
- These crispy noodles elevate everything. Use them for a bowl of soup or add them to your simple salad when you've run out of croutons. I always use them when I don't have my homemade Parmesan croutons at hand.
Recipe Ingredients

- Noodles: I used egg Hakka noodles here. You could use the vegetarian version too, if that's what you prefer. I love using egg noodles because they have a beautiful texture.
- Oil: You'll need just a bit, to spray on the noodles before air frying them. Feel free to use cooking spray if you want to.
- Cornflour: Cornflour helps soak up all the excess moisture from the surface of the noodles, and also helps them crisp up beautifully when air fried. I use it for my Air Fryer bang bang cauliflower recipe too.

Substitutions & Variations
- If you don't have egg noodles or vegetarian Hakka noodles, you can also use Ramen noodles if you want to, and it should work just as well.
- For extra flavor, you can add a dash of garlic powder into the cornflour and then toss the noodles in the mixture before you air fry them.
- Season the noodles after air frying with my chaat masala for an Indian-spiced crispy noodle snack, or my sriracha salt for a spicy-tangy version that's excellent as a standalone snack with drinks.
How to Make Air Fryer Crispy Noodles
Start by preheating your Air Fryer and greasing your Air Fryer basket with some cooking spray.

In a pot over medium heat, boil the noodles in salted water until they're al dente.

Take them off heat and strain the excess water.

Transfer the cooked noodles to a wide plate and sprinkle some cornflour over them. Toss to coat nicely. Transfer to a greased Air Fryer basket and spray some cooking spray.

Air fry for 5-7 minutes, flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
💭Top Tip
Make sure you check the Air Fryer basket at the 6 minute mark to see if the noodles have turned slightly golden brown. If they have, flip them over and if they haven't, given them a couple of extra minutes to brown up.

Tips & Tricks to Nail the Recipe
- Make sure you salt the boiling water for the noodles generously.
- If you can, let the noodles sit in the for around 20-30 minutes to remove all excess moisture from their surface. Doing this helps crisp them up beautifully.
- Remember not to overcrowd the Air Fryer basket with a large portion of the noodles. Leave a little room for the hot air to flow throughout the basket nicely. I always do this when I make my crunchy salad topper and Air Fryer dehydrated bell peppers.
How to Use the Air Fried Crispy Noodles
My favorite way to enjoy these crispy Chinese noodles is to use them as a topping over a bowl of hot soup- ideally some Manchow soup or cilantro chicken soup. The crunchy texture just takes a regular bowl of soup to the next level.
And of course, you can also serve them as a side dish with some Asian stir fried veggies or crush the noodles up a bit and sprinkle it over your simple salad bowl- like my Asian chicken carrot salad.

Recipe FAQs
You can! I chose to air fry them because I wanted them to be healthier. You can deep fry them on medium heat until they turn golden brown, and then place them on a paper towel to soak all the excess oil.
You can store your leftover air fried crispy noodles in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, if not longer. They can also be refrigerated if you want to extend their shelf life a bit.
If they seem to have lost their crunchiness when you're using them, just pop them back in the Air Fryer again for a minute or two to crisp them up. You can also reheat them in the microwave, let them cool down, and they should be nice and crunchy again.
