These are super versatile and perfect to instantly add to your soups, stews and so much more- just like my jalapeno flakes.

This isn't the first time I've used my Air Fryer to dehydrate food. My Air Fryer ginger powder was such a lifesaver, and I managed to make a year's worth of ginger powder in just under an hour over the weekend.
And of course, my Air Fryer crispy noodles were an absolute hit with everything. That kind of inspired me to try dehydrating other foods too. And so I did!

What's So Great About the Recipe?
My favorite part about this recipe is just how effortless it really is. It barely took me 20 minutes to get done with everything, and the dehydrated peppers have been SO useful for me for my everyday cooking.
It's really versatile- just like my Air Fryer date sugar is!
Recipe Ingredients

Bell Peppers: I used a mix of three different bell peppers, because that's what I had at hand. Feel free to use any one or two colors too! Make sure you pick ones that are fresh, ripe and firm.

Substitutions & Variations
- I chopped up the peppers into small pieces, but if you prefer a different cut, feel free to experiment with that. Thin strips work great, but keep in mind, they'll take slightly longer to dehydrate.
- You can use a mix of bell peppers, Jalapenos, Scotch Bonnet peppers and even habaneros if you want to.
How to Make Air Fryer Dehydrated Bell Peppers

Step 1: Start to core and chop the bell peppers into ¼-1/2 inch chunks.

Step 2: Arrange them in the Air Fryer basket lined with parchment paper.

Step 3: Air fry them at the lowest temperature for 45 minutes to an hour.

Step 4: Remove them, allow them to cool down completely and store them for later.
💭Top Tip
Make sure you arrange the peppers in a single layer and leave space between them to allow the hot air to dehydrate them nicely. Work in batches if necessary.

How to Store the Dehydrated Bell Peppers
Store the dehydrated bell peppers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a year. I would recommend using clean glass containers to airtight jars- I did the same with my oven dried tomatoes and it was an absolute success.
Store them in the pantry or in your kitchen cabinet or in any cool, dark and dry place away from direct sunlight. If the jar looks like there's some mold growing and the peppers look spoiled, it's best to discard them.

Tips & Tricks to Nail the Recipe
- To check if the peppers are done dehydrating, press on them and try to bend them. If they bend, there's still some moisture left, and they need more time in the oven or the Air Fryer.
- To speed up dehydrating the peppers, chop them up into small chunks- even smaller than I did.
- Place the Air Fryer basket tray on the top of the peppers to keep them from flying while they're inside.
- Avoid air frying the peppers at high heat- they'll end up burning. Keep checking on them after the 30 minute mark and remove them as soon as they look dry and done.
- If you're going to be using these peppers often, consider placing a moisture-absorbing desiccant packet in the jar along with the peppers.
How to Use Dehydrated Bell Peppers
Using dehydrated bell peppers is super easy! You can rehydrate them by adding a couple of spoonfuls of warm water into them and letting them sit for a few minutes until the water is absorbed, and then use them for a salad or burrito bowl.
I love adding them to my soups, stews and mason jar noodle salads in particular, just like I did with my oven dried tomatoes.
You can also blitz the dehydrated peppers into a powder and use it as a seasoning mix (just like my jalapeno salt and Sriracha salt) to sprinkle over your breakfast eggs, salads and so much more.

Yes, you can. Preheat the oven at its lowest temperature setting and arrange the chopped peppers in an even layer on a lined baking sheet. They should be dehydrated within 4-5 hours.
