Ingredients

  • 3-6 bell peppers

Instructions

  • Start to core and chop the bell peppers into ¼-½ inch chunks.
  • Arrange them in the Air Fryer basket lined with parchment paper.
  • Air fry them at the lowest temperature for 45 minutes to an hour.
  • Remove them, allow them to cool down completely and store them for later.

Notes

  • Make sure you arrange the peppers in a single layer and leave space between them to allow the hot air to dehydrate them nicely. Work in batches if necessary.
  • To check if the peppers are done dehydrating, press on them and try to bend them. If they bend, there's still some moisture left, and they need more time in the oven or the Air Fryer.
  • To speed up dehydrating the peppers, chop them up into small chunks- even smaller than I did.
  • Place the Air Fryer basket tray on the top of the peppers to keep them from flying while they're inside.
  • Avoid air frying the peppers at high heat- they'll end up burning. Keep checking on them after the 30 minute mark and remove them as soon as they look dry and done.
  • If you're going to be using these peppers often, consider placing a moisture-absorbing desiccant packet in the jar along with the peppers.
