Blueberry Vinegar
Tangy, fruity and seriously delicious, this homemade blueberry vinegar is perfect to batch make and store whenever you have some extra blueberries that you want to put to use.
10 minutes in the kitchen is all you'll need to make a jar full of this brilliant looking concoction that you can use in so many different ways. This infused vinegar is actually inspired by my strawberry vinegar recipe, which turned out to be such a huge hit!

I love dressing up my salads and coleslaws with vinegar, and apple cider vinegar is my absolute favorite. The fruity, crispy notes work so well with almost every single recipe, and inspired by that, I wanted to try something on similar lines- something that I could put to use everyday.
And that's when I made my hot pepper vinegar, and it was such a hit! This time, I had some extra blueberries leftover after making my homemade blueberry sauce, and I thought of putting them to use to make an infused vinegar.

- It's incredibly versatile. You can use it to jazz up your simple salads- like I did when I made my sweet vinegar coleslaw.
Recipe Ingredients

Blueberries: The best quality ripe, blueberries you can find.
Vinegar: White wine vinegar or rice vinegar work best for this recipe. I wouldn't recommend using distilled white vinegar, as it can be too strong.
Herbs: Use any herbs of your choice. I used thyme and basil.
Sugar: Just a bit, to balance out the acidity.
See recipe card for quantities.

I've also loved using it to make my jalapeno vinaigrette and sometimes my lemon poppy seed dressing. In fact, it also turns out to be a really nice homemade gift for the holidays.

Troubleshooting and FAQs
You can store the leftover blueberry vinegar in the refrigerator and it can stay good for up to 6 months, if not longer.
If you spot any bubbling or foam on the surface, or notice any foul odour from the vinegar, it could be a sign that the vinegar has gone bad.
