Making versatile seasoning blends from scratch is my latest obsession. It all started with making my garlic parsley salt and citrus salt from scratch, and once I realized how quick and easy it was, there was no going back to the store-bought, packaged seasonings ever.

I recently tried my hands a mixed herb salt, and it was the best, most versatile seasoning ever! And that inspired me to make another low-salt mixed herb blend.

Dried herbs: I used dried rosemary, oregano and parsley. You could also add dried thyme if you have it at hand.

Garlic powder: For the flavor. This one's a must. You can also use garlic granules if that's what you have at hand.

Onion flakes: For a bit of texture. You could use onion powder too.

Seasonings: I used black pepper and red chili flakes for the flavor. Feel free to adjust the quantity of these to your liking. You can also add some homemade jalapeno flakes for some extra heat.
