Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 1.5 tablespoon coconut oil
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and arrange the almonds in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
  • Remove and let the almonds cool down completely. Transfer to a blender jar and blend for 2-3 minutes, pausing occasionally.
  • Gently pour in the oil and add the salt. Blend again. Scrape the sides and add the remaining oil.
  • Keep blending and scraping until you get a paste that is almost completely smooth.

Notes

  • The exact blending time will vary depending on your blender and the quantity of almonds used.
  • Don't worry if the almonds look dry and crumbly at first—the mixture will become smoother as the almonds release their natural oils.
  • Add the oil gradually until you reach your preferred consistency.
  • Allow the roasted almonds to cool before blending.
