Ingredients

  • 2 cups tomato ketchup
  • ½ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • In a pan over medium heat, combine all the ingredients and stir until it starts to bubble up.
  • Take it off heat, allow it to cool down completely and then transfer to an airtight jar or container.

Notes

  • If you can, make this sauce a few days ahead of time and let it sit in the refrigerator. This will deepen the flavors further and you'll get the perfect savory and delicious BBQ sauce.
  • When it comes to seasoning the sauce, start with a little, taste and adjust as per your liking.
  • Cook the sauce on low heat and keep stirring continuously. Since the base of the sauce is ketchup, expect some splatters too!
  • For a bit of extra flavor, you can also add some dry mustard powder into the mix if you have it at hand.
