Ginger Lemon Honey Syrup

This ginger lemon honey syrup is not just a great home remedy for cold and flu, but a great flavorful addition to your glass of water this winter!

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger peeled and grated (or finely minced)
  • 2 tablespoon clover honey
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, combine lemon and ginger with all the other ingredients.
  • Mix well until you get a uniform liquid.
  • Transfer to a glass jar.
  • Use it as a salad dressing or mix into your cup of hot tea and enjoy.

Notes

If you can’t find fresh ginger root, you can source some dried ginger and then use it for this recipe too. Just make sure you let the ginger stay in the honey mixture for at least 24 hours before you strain it out, or better yet, let it stay in there. 
Remember to wash the lemon and ginger thoroughly and pat dry before you use them for the recipe. 
If you’re not too sure if you’ll enjoy the texture the pieces of ginger bring into the syrup, you can choose to finely grind or mince the ginger, strain it and then use the ginger juice for this ginger lemon honey syrup.
