Need something less intense and spicy? Try my simple lemon infused honey recipe that's perfect for the whole family.

Honey has recently become a staple in my household. I've used it to make whipped honey, which is a great spread for my breakfast toast and some spicy jalapeno honey (inspired by all those hot honey recipes out there).
Recently, I read all about the benefits of ginger and honey together, and that's when I thought of making this infused honey.

What's So Great About the Recipe?
- Just like my favorite spiced orange honey, this infused honey is really easy to make. You barely need 5 minutes of prep time.
- It's perfect for the flu season! Packing in some really powerful ingredients, it can actually soothe your senses and make you feel better when you have a cold.
- It lasts for weeks, if not months- it's perfect to make over the weekend.
Recipe Ingredients

Honey: Raw honey is the best choice for this recipe. If you can't find raw honey, use the best quality, less-processed honey you can get your hands on.
Turmeric powder: Again, use the best quality you can find. If you can, use organic turmeric. If you can find fresh turmeric, even better- you can use some of it for this recipe and make pickled turmeric with the rest.
Black peppercorns: Whole black peppercorns team up with the turmeric to unlock curcumin- the powerful anti-inflammatory compound that really does the magic.
Lemon: Fresh lemon is packed with vitamin C, and is great for the immune system. It's another must for this recipe.
Ginger: I used fresh ginger, because that's just what I had at hand. You can also use dried ginger or homemade ginger powder if you can't find fresh ginger.

Tips & Tricks to Nail the Recipe
- Give the infused honey a quick mix every time you want to use it- sometimes, the turmeric and other ingredients can settle down at the bottom.
- Use a clean, dry spoon to mix it- you don't want any moisture getting in, as it can cause the honey to spoil.
- For a bit of extra flavor, you can also add a dash of cinnamon or ground clove into the mix.
- Don't discard the lemons! Use up the peel to make homemade candied lemon pepper or some lemon marmalade!
How to Use Turmeric and Ginger Honey
My favorite way to use this turmeric and ginger honey is to have it by a spoonful whenever I'm feeling under the weather or just need a pick-me-up. I know that the kick of heat from the ginger can be an acquired taste, so it's totally okay if you want to dilute it and have it.
I would recommend mixing a spoonful of this with a cup of hot water and enjoying it as a drink on a cold winter morning- just like I do with my ginger honey lemon syrup.

Troubleshooting and FAQs
You can store the turmeric and ginger infused honey at room temperature for weeks, if not months. If you're worried about it getting spoilt, you can refrigerate it too- it should stay good for up to 2 months, maybe longer. Just remember to use a clean airtight container to store it, and use a clean, dry spoon to portion it out.
While honey does have quite a bit of powerful anti-inflammatory action, you can swap it for some agave or maple syrup if you want to try this recipe in a vegan version.
